2021 Program Directors
Austin Clark is the great-grandson of Baby and Clare Clark, the founders of Christian Life Fellowship and King’s Camp. Austin grew up in Mer Rouge attending camp and working on the family farm in the summer. He recently graduated from LSU with a degree in Biology and will be entering into the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans this August. Austin has served at King’s Camp as both a volunteer and a counselor over the years. During his time at LSU, he also served as a leader of a community group of Christian believers devoted to studying scripture through The Refuge college ministry. Austin currently works as an EMT for Acadian Ambulance Service in Baton Rouge, and he is a member of The Chapel, a church on LSU’s campus dedicated to helping people meet, know, and follow Jesus. Austin is thrilled to be given the opportunity to invest back into King’s Camp, since the place shaped him as a man and a leader and introduced him to God’s loving kindness.
John Ellender is a lover of life and Jesus. He is also the great-grandson of Baby and Clare Clark, the founders of Christian Life Fellowship and King’s Camp. While John was born in raised in Mer Rouge and grew up going to King’s Camp in his early summers, he attended Camp Chosatonga in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina throughout his middle-school and high-school years and served as a counselor there for three consecutive summers as a cabin leader and whitewater paddling instructor. John is currently about to graduate from Franciscan University of Steubenville, OH with a degree in Humanities and plans on starting the masters program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Franciscan this upcoming August. During his time at Francican, John played DIII soccer, joined a Christian fraternity called Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam, and led weekly praise and worship. He has served on two mission trips to Benque, Belize to teach high-schoolers about Jesus, and one mission trip to the Amazonian village of Chontapunta, Ecuador to serve the poor. While John has not been an active member of King’s Camp in recent years, he’s ecstatic to return back home and bring his various experiences to pour back into King’s Camp, the community that first taught him how exciting it is to walk with Jesus.
